From the second I picked fender 52 reissue up I knew something was going on – fender 52 reissue was way lighter than an ’07 ’52 RI Tele I had before, which must have weighed over 8 pounds for sure. Also, the neck of this black Tele was very slim compared to that other ’52, and WAY slimmer than my Kelly boatneck – but the carve was still round and comfortable all the way up, maybe fender 52 reissue has to do with the vintage fretboard radius.
Ash is an alternative Fender sometimes uses instead of alder. Body is flat, single cut and tele 52 reissue`s topped with a plastic white pickguard. Besides tele 52 reissue`s primary function, Telecaster`s pickguard also serves as the electronics cover. It surrounds both single coil pickups installed on this 52 reissue tele. Behind the pickups Fender installs the famous “tray” bridge with chrome plating and three saddles. Neck on this 52 reissue tele is equipped with a regular U contour and bolt-on joint.
